Parent Reminders from Student Services and Front Office

Reporting Student Absences: To report student absences, email or call 410-313-5043 (voicemail is available 24/7) or fill out the online form.
In addition to your phone call or email, please send a note to Student Services with your student on the day of their return stating the reason for the absence.

Early Dismissal: Please remember to send a note in the morning with your child on days when he/she will be picked up early from school.  This is very helpful, as we strive to eliminate classroom interruption. If a student receives a pass from Mrs. Connelly in Student Services in the morning, they are able to leave class at the time of dismissal.  Please note that parents need to sign students out in the Front Office and bring identification in to school. 

Absent Notes: Please remember to either send in a note when your child is absent or email Mrs. Connolly so that your child can be marked excused.  Please remember to also include in the note or email the reason for their absence.  If a note is not sent in, the absence is marked unexcused.

Vacation Reminder: It is strongly recommended that parents plan vacation/out of town travel for times when school is not in regular session. It is recognized, however, that occasionally students are absent for necessary or important family activities. When this occurs, prior written notification from a parent is to be approved by an administrator. Please click here for the required form and have your child submit the form to Student Services.  Please note that if a child is absent longer then 10 days the policy states they will be withdrawn from school.

Late Arrivals: Students should enter school at 7:50 a.m. so they can arrive to Homeroom by 8:00 a.m.  If students do not arrive by 8:00 a.m. they must sign in at Student Services.

Family File:

HCPSS uses Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child, and can do so by logging in to and selecting the Family File tab and then clicking on Family File.
